Taking Roses from Wolves (Light Poem)

Bright and beautiful

There are roses

Amongst wolves

To reach them,

One must face

The violent pack

Each rose

Has its thorns,

But beyond them

There are wolves

These wolves

Care not for the rose

Their violent intent

Is in their eyes

It takes a brave

And steady soul

To reach the rose

Past the wolves

The thorns of the rose

Burden one not

When you realize

The wolves are the true concern

Rescuing the roses

Saving them

To preserve them with care

A noble and sacrificial aim

Temptations of Darkness (Faith Poem)

Of the darkness

Come in different forms

Subtle coercion

And conscious choices

The darkness draws us in

To put out our light

For good

Give no place to darkness

The elements of the realm

Of evil

Walk with the Lord

Hear His voice

Hold His hand

Your Heavenly Father

Will draw you near

Silence your fear

And strengthen your light

When We Leave God Out

It is important to recognize when we are leaving God out of our lives. The enemy wants us as far away from the Lord and His Kingdom as possible, and convincing us that we don’t need the Lord is one of his tactics.

When life is going well and we are keeping busy, it may become difficult to spend time praying, talking with the Lord, and/or reading God’s Word. You may even find yourself actively avoiding those activities.

We need to remember that walking closely with God is the key to living our best life. When we are not walking with Him, we are at the mercy of the enemy. The enemy might be kind to you at first (to get you away from the Lord), but his aim (in the long-run) is always to steal, kill, and destroy!

Are you praying often? Are you talking with the Lord? Are you reading, listening to, or watching encouraging material? All of these things will help you grow spiritually and keep you walking in all of the blessings and prosperity that God wants for you as His child!

Follow the path that the Lord has set for your life.

Coffee Thought 1/26/2020

The devil is very much real, and he is the enemy of every Christian. His agenda is to destroy you -physically, emotionally, and spiritually. But it is also important for you to know that God is very much real, and He desires for you to be healed– physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Spend some time thinking about the areas of your life that the devil has been tearing down, and pray over them. Your Heavenly Father always hears you, and He will give you direction.

Word of Encouragement

Don’t let the devil drag you down! Do not let guilt, fear, shame, anger, depression, judgement, hate, or self-pity take root in your heart!

The Lord has love, peace, joy, patience, strength, prosperity, revelation, hope, light, and more for you!

You are a child of the Most High God!

Your Heavenly Father is with you always!

Whispers (Faith Poem)

So quiet

The whispers

They imitate the truth

So I can’t deny it

Words from the enemy

They try to slip in

They try to anger and confuse me

They tempt me to sin

Where can I find respite?

I am so desperate

To rid myself of the dark darts

That exist only to break hearts

I come to you Lord

Show me an escape

That you can guide me toward

That will lead me to peace!

He shows me the cross and the kingdom’s keys

He shows me what He sees

That they represent

All the power I’ll ever need!

Don’t Fight Alone

Discounting the influences of other people for the present moment, Christians have two distracting influences that they must actively defend against: the devil, and one’s own flesh (your “flesh” is a term for your worldly raw humanity).

These two influences can be particularly troublesome if you do not have a close walk with the Lord. Both will try to lead you down paths that may feel right in the moment but will eventually end in pain and disappointment.

Here are some of the things that you can do to defend against the influences of your flesh and the enemy…

(♦) Read the Bible. (Recommended sections included below)

—Read about how Jesus lived

—Read about how we, as children of God, are instructed to live.

(♦) Keep in close communication with the Lord

—If you can talk with the Lord and/or Holy Spirit, keep it up!

—If you are unsure of how you can communicate with the Lord, check out my post “Hearing the Father and Holy Spirit”.

(♦) Create a positive, godly atmosphere.
