To bring this series to its conclusion, I would like for us to focus on the future.

As we build our mental and spiritual health, we will become stronger and surer in our purpose and in our faith. The future is bright as long as we maintain our hope and our commitment. No matter what we will face, we will never be alone. The Lord is always with us, and He will always help us.

And please remember that you are in my prayers! We are all brothers and sisters in Christ, and it is very important to me that your journey is the best that it can be!

Scriptures for Today’s Post

Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)- For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Heavenly Father,

I praise and honor you. You are the Alpha and the Omega. You are Almighty God. Thank you for the boundless love that you have for me and the faithfulness that you show me each day. I decree and declare that my future is bright and full of blessings and prosperity!

It’s Day 20 of the 21-Day Mental and Spiritual Health Series!

It’s almost the end of the series! Only one day left!

Today, I want to review the tactics that the Enemy will use to come against our mental health and stability.

As we continue along the path of mental and spiritual growth, we will face opposition. It is vital that we understand that we will be facing a battle, but also that our God is greater than any challenge we will ever face.

The Enemy’s plan is to do all that he can to steal, kill, and destroy. He will try to use our own thoughts against us, and he will also try to use others against us. We must realize that we are fighting a spiritual battle in these cases.

The spiritual realm is the ultimate battleground- but people can become collateral damage. We have a fair amount of control over our thoughts (as we’ve discussed previously), but we have much less control when the enemy uses others to hurt us. In those cases, we must trust in God for guidance and pray for others.

The Enemy is very real, and we must be aware of his tactics and how to defeat them.

Scriptures for Today’s Post

James 4:7 (ESV)- Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Luke 10:19 (ESV)- Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.

Romans 12:21 (ESV)- Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your love, your faithfulness, and your guidance! I pray that my life will bring glory to you! I decree and declare that any and all plans of the enemy to affect or influence my life will be canceled! I stand in great strength and hope because the Lord has already won my battles. I stand in victory!

It’s Day 19 of the 21-Day Mental and Spiritual Health Series!

Today I am simply adding a helpful positive confession that can be repeated as often as is necessary.

The Lord will provide for all my needs. I will not fear or worry about tomorrow.

The path that God has designed for me is well-lit, and I have the supernatural wisdom and understanding to faithfully follow that path.

The Enemy has no power in my life! I stand strong in the power of Christ!

I am a renewed creation- I was made righteous in the eyes of God by Jesus’ sacrifice.

I stand in expectation of greater and greater blessing and prosperity!

It’s Day 18 of the 21-Day Mental and Spiritual Health Series!

As we walk our mental and spiritual health journey, we will see that each day is different. Each day we will be presented with new challenges and new opportunities. Tomorrow, we will have different conversations, different confrontations, different needs, different worries, different tasks, and different joys.

We have to remember to forgive ourselves and to give ourselves grace as we continue along our journey. We are not perfect, and we do not have all of the answers. What we do have is a God who will never leave us nor forsake us. He will give us the strength and the wisdom that we will need if we ask.

Let’s take things just one day at a time.

Scriptures for Today’s Post

Philippians 4:19 (ESV)- And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)- The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

2 Corinthians 4:16 (ESV)- So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I thank you that today is yet another day that I am alive to see your power, your love, and your grace. I pray that my eyes and ears are opened to see and hear the things that you are doing in this world. I pray that I will be in alignment with your will, and I choose not to worry about tomorrow. I know that your mercies are new each morning, and I will not fear.

It’s Day 17 of the 21-Day Mental and Spiritual Health series!

There is much that we can do to support our mental and spiritual health on our own, but it can be helpful to also find and fellowship with others who can encourage us.

Supportive fellowship can be a very strong element in fostering and maintaining mental and spiritual health. However, it is vital that we seek encouragement from the right people. If we surround ourselves with people who are mentally and spiritually compromised (to a significant degree), we will be putting ourselves at risk.

When we know and interact with people who are strong in their faith and who actively try to live according to biblical principles, our own faith and lifestyle will be positively impacted. Sometimes it is even enough to know that you are not the only one on this kind of journey.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (ESV)- Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

Proverbs 27:17 (ESV)- Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.

1 Peter 3:8 (ESV)- Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your grace and your mercy. You are worthy of all honor and all praise. Lord, I pray that you will place godly people in my path that will help me grow, and I pray for wisdom to identify those individuals. You are always for me, Lord, and I will trust in you and in your promise that you will care for me.

It’s Day 16 of the 21-Day Mental and Spiritual Health Series!

Over the past two weeks, I have talked a great deal about how we should think and act in order to live our best lives and bolster our mental and spiritual health. I realize that understanding these concepts and actually living them out are two completely different things. Nobody is perfect, and we will all have our good days and bad days. What’s important is that we continually strive to work harder and to do better.

Consistently acting in love, thinking positively, and fighting against the influences of the enemy and the flesh is no easy task! All of these things take practice and often require significant conscious effort. We will never be perfect- but that should not keep us from trying our best!

Scriptures for Today’s Post

2 Timothy 2:15 (ESV)- Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

Colossians 3:17 (ESV)- And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Proverbs 13:4 (ESV)- The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your great love for me. You hold me safe in your hands, and I will trust in you. I know that you desire for me to be in good health mentally and spiritually, and I decree and declare that I will actively seek to improve my health even when it seems daunting. Lord, I understand that I can never be perfect in my own strength. Instead of focusing on my limited ability, I choose to focus on continually working toward the goals that you set forth in your Word. I find peace in the knowledge that nothing is impossible for you, Lord.

It’s Day 15 of the 21-Day Mental and Spiritual Health Series!

Working on our mental and spiritual health is a conscious decision. Our level of motivation for this commitment can quickly become a serious concern. The Enemy will attempt to distract us and deplete our motivation, and our flesh (our natural condition) is not always ready and willing to cooperate.

When we feel our motivation dipping, it is important to re-evaluate why we must continually care for our mental and spiritual health. When we are mentally and spiritually healthy, we maximize our life’s potential. It allows us to walk in alignment with the Father and the Kingdom of Heaven and enables us to experience increased blessing and prosperity.

It is also vital to draw closer to the Lord when we are concerned about our motivation. God always wants to help us, and He will encourage us to stay on the right path- His path.

1 Corinthians 15:58 (ESV)- Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Matthew 19:26 (ESV)- But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)- But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your wisdom and your guidance. I know that you are always near to me, and I choose to actively trust in you. I pray that my motivation to improve my mental and spiritual health will strengthen each day instead of diminishing, and I speak against any forces that would attempt to hinder my progress.

It’s Day 14 of the 21-Day Mental and Spiritual Health Series!

Yesterday’s post was about the Fruits of the Spirit. Today, I will be focusing on one of these fruits in particular- Love.

Love is a vital element in our lives and in our mental and spiritual health. God loved us so much that He sent Jesus- His only Son- to suffer and die on the cross so that we could be redeemed. The relationship that we enjoy with our Heavenly Father today began with love and continues in love.

Acting and thinking in love in our daily lives is incredibly important for our mental and spiritual health. It pushes back against the darkness and fills us with light. It will help us to keep our emotions under control, and it will also bless all of those around us.

Let us choose to walk in love going forward!

John 3:16 (ESV)- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

1 John 4:8 (ESV)- Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Heavenly Father,

Your love for me is beyond measure, and I am forever thankful. I know you will be with me everywhere I go, and I know that you will provide me with the strength that I will need to walk in love each day. I decree and declare that no matter what I face, I will be able to respond in love. Darkness will never have victory in my life!

It’s Day 12 of the 21-Day Mental and Spiritual Health Series!

Today, I want to focus on two forces that can significantly impact our mental and spiritual health- anxiety and depression. These forces can be incredibly powerful, and I have a heart for those who are struggling with them.

Depression and anxiety are quite complex, and they can influence the way we perceive everything around us. There are varying degrees of depression and anxiety-but they are detrimental (mentally, physically, and spiritually) at any level.

To protect ourselves against these forces or to help us rid ourselves of them- we need to look to God. Anxiety and depression are forces of the Kingdom of Darkness, and we can defeat them by actively walking in the power of the Kingdom of Heaven. Praying, reading the Bible, making positive confessions, breaking negative word curses, and actively thinking in positive ways can all help us to defeat the forces of depression and anxiety.

These two forces do not have to be a part of who we are. They are an affliction- and they can be defeated.

Scriptures for Today’s Post

1 Peter 5:7 (ESV)- Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Matthew 6:34 (ESV)- Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Joshua 1:9 (ESV)- Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for another day in which I have the opportunity to experience your boundless love and mercy. I decree and declare that anxiety and depression are not a part of who I am, and I cast them to the feet of Jesus. I pray that peace and joy will take their place, and I break the power of any negative word curses that have been spoken over me. Thank you, Lord, for your goodness and faithfulness. I am your humble servant, and I honor as one of your beloved children.
