It’s Day 12 of the 21-Day Mental and Spiritual Health Series!
Today, I want to focus on two forces that can significantly impact our mental and spiritual health- anxiety and depression. These forces can be incredibly powerful, and I have a heart for those who are struggling with them.
Depression and anxiety are quite complex, and they can influence the way we perceive everything around us. There are varying degrees of depression and anxiety-but they are detrimental (mentally, physically, and spiritually) at any level.
To protect ourselves against these forces or to help us rid ourselves of them- we need to look to God. Anxiety and depression are forces of the Kingdom of Darkness, and we can defeat them by actively walking in the power of the Kingdom of Heaven. Praying, reading the Bible, making positive confessions, breaking negative word curses, and actively thinking in positive ways can all help us to defeat the forces of depression and anxiety.
These two forces do not have to be a part of who we are. They are an affliction- and they can be defeated.
Scriptures for Today’s Post
1 Peter 5:7 (ESV)- Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
Matthew 6:34 (ESV)- Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Joshua 1:9 (ESV)- Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Thank you for another day in which I have the opportunity to experience your boundless love and mercy. I decree and declare that anxiety and depression are not a part of who I am, and I cast them to the feet of Jesus. I pray that peace and joy will take their place, and I break the power of any negative word curses that have been spoken over me. Thank you, Lord, for your goodness and faithfulness. I am your humble servant, and I honor as one of your beloved children.
