It’s Day 4 of the 21-Day Mental and Spiritual Health Series!
I have spent the past few days discussing internal thought processes, feelings, and emotions. Today, I will discuss the external forces that influence them.
As we go through life, we inevitably find ourselves in a wide variety of circumstances and situations. We will have thoughts, emotions, and feelings associated with each of these circumstances and situations. It is vital that we pay close attention to how we react to the world around us.
We must do our best to avoid dwelling on negative thoughts and feelings by dealing with them promptly when they arise.
Focusing on positive thoughts and feelings- even in negative situations, is the best option for our mental and spiritual health. The Spirit will assist us in this aim, but we must be diligent to listen to the Spirit’s guiding. I will discuss this particular topic in greater detail tomorrow.
Scriptures for Today’s Post
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ESV)- Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Philippians 4:13 (ESV)- I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
John 14:27 (ESV)- Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
I thank you for giving me life and for the sacrifice of your Son that allows me to have abundant life. I pray over the circumstances and situations in my life. I speak blessings over them, and I pray that you will walk with me through each and every one of them. I pray that I will respond in the proper way to each issue I face, and I decree and declare that my mental and spiritual health will grow stronger each day.
In Jesus’ mighty name I pray,
